The game has been very fair so far. The intensity is still at a high level, so there are a lot of duels, although no one has had to leave the ice yet.

When Mannheim’s relief attack comes, Leon Gawanke can score twice. While his first attempt was blocked, the disc soon flies through four players, but Leon Hungerecker doesn’t let the traffic deter him and grabs it safely.

19:53
The fact remains that Alexander Sulzer’s men are currently the more active team. Again and again they are able to penetrate the Eagles’ third and get several shots on goal, all of which are harmless.

The Fischtown Pinguins are getting stronger and are putting increasing pressure on the guests. Nino Kinder now wants to make up for his mistake before the equalizer and fires a powerful shot towards Maximilian Franzreb, who is able to parry the goal.

Max Görtz from the left face-off circle would like to use a strong combination from the home side. But his shot is blocked at the last moment, which creates a transition situation, which, however, expires.

Goal for Adler Mannheim, 1:1 by Anthony Greco
Behind Leon Hungerecker’s goal, Nino Kinder goes into a duel with Kris Bennett. The man from Mannheim receives support from Zach Solow. After winning the puck, the pass is immediately made into the high slot, where Anthony Greco is lurking. He doesn’t hesitate for long and takes the play equipment directly and sinks it in the top left.

Mannheim takes the game, but the hosts have the better finishes! Bennet Roßmy takes a slap shot from the left side of the blue line. However, the tight finish flies straight to Maximilian Franzreb, who can safely clear the disc.

The Fischtown Pinguins fans can immediately be heard loudly. Meanwhile, the Adler Mannheim are trying to take over the game and look for a way forward.

Goal for Fischtown Pinguins, 1-0 by Justin Büsing
The game seemed to be calming down and then the goal was scored! Mannheim cannot clear the disc from their own third. So there is a chance from the right face-off circle, but it is not particularly dangerous. Maximilian Franzreb can’t fix the play equipment and so a rebound lands directly on Justin Büsing’s blade, who plays the puck from a short distance through the goalie’s legs, so that it ultimately hits just next to the right post.

7:39 p.m
After the first moments were very fast, both teams slowed down a bit.
4.
7:38 p.m
The Adler Mannheim established themselves in the home team’s third, but Dallas Eakins’ men still couldn’t find a finishing position, so they stayed in the opponent’s zone, but Leon Hungerecker didn’t have to intervene yet.
3.
7:36 p.m
Nicholas Jensen plays a very risky cross pass just in front of his own baseline, but Lukas Kälble narrowly misses it. As a result, an attack by the home team developed, which Christian Wejse brought backhanded towards the goal, but Maximilian Franzreb was at the height of the action and calmed the encounter down.

Both teams look for a way forward right at the start of the game and an entertaining opening phase develops.

Game start
19:29
Compared to the game during the week, Alexander Sulzer has not made any changes. Leon Hungerecker starts in goal, while Vladimír Eminger and Ludwig Byström play in front of him. As usual, Jan Urbas, Miha Verlič and Žiga Jeglič will provide the goals. On the other side, Maximilian Franzreb stands between the posts and is supported in defense by Lukas Kälble and Leon Gawanke. There are also Yannick Proske, Marc Michaelis and Justin Schütz.
19:26
In contrast to today’s home team, the Adler Mannheim did not have to play a game during the week. So Dallas Eakins’ men will go into the match more rested than the Fischtown Penguins. However, the Eagles’ staffing levels are relatively thin. After the injuries to Kristian Reichel, Johan Mattsson and Luke Esposito, the Mannheim team will now have to be without Tom Kühnhackl, who suffered a leg injury against the Nürnberg Ice Tigers last Friday, for three to four weeks.
19:17
The Fischtown Penguins have had a short week. After the 4-2 win against the Grizzlys Wolfsburg last Sunday, the Champions Hockey League continued two days later. In a close encounter, the Bremerhaven team won 2-0 against Luleå HF on matchday 5 of the group phase. Alexander Sulzer’s team has only suffered one defeat in the last six games. So the Pinguins’ self-confidence will be quite high despite last week’s 1:4 defeat at the Kölner Haien. Against the Adler, one will have to pay particular attention to Jan Urbas, who has scored four of the last six goals.
7:04 p.m
Both the Adler Mannheim and the Fischtown Pinguins got off to an excellent start in the 2025/26 season. While today’s guests already have seven wins after eight games and have a total of 22 points, which means Dallas Eakins’ men are at the top of the table, the Penguins are in third place with six wins and 18 points, tied with the second-placed Straubing Tigers. Despite the early date in the current season, there will be a truly top game on Friday evening in the Bremerhaven ice arena.
7:00 p.m
Hello and welcome to the top game of the 9th matchday of the DEL. From 7:30 p.m. the Fischtown Pinguins will welcome the Adler Mannheim in the Eisarena Bremerhaven.
