In an interview, the US President was moody about the rapper’s guest performance in the half-time show at the Super Bowl.
Donald Trump spoke publicly for the first time on the appearance of Bad Bunny in the half -time show of the upcoming Super Bowl 2026. So far, the US President had been silent for the surprising but mostly positive choice of the hip-hop star.

Now Trump was asked by Newsmax moderator Greg Kelly during an interview on Monday (October 6th). However, with the question of whether it is appropriate to consider a boycott of the NFL, since it hired a musician who speaks against the immigration authority ICE and generally represents different views than the incumbent US government.
“I have never heard of him, I don’t even know who that is,” the 79-year-old replied only to get briefly: “I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s crazy … I find it absolutely ridiculous.”
Donald Trump has other reasons to be angry with the NFL
The fact that Trump mocked more about the new kick-off rules of the NFL (“It looks so terrible. To be honest, it really evaluates the football”) and does not even go down on Bad Bunny, could either mean that he doesn’t matter who is on the stage at half-time of the largest sports event. Or it is really the case that the US president actually has no opinion because he has literally never heard of Bad Bunny.
Because the rapper is the first male Latin solo artist at the Super Bowl, many rate the selection of the NFL as a political statement (maybe it also plays a tiny role that he is one of the most streamed musicians of the present). Republicans seriously fear that the Super Bowl could also bring a overprobile of illegal immigrants.
Bad Bunny had recently made it clear that he would not play any further concerts in the USA out of concern for the ICE authority for the time being-only to confirm the big exception, namely the appearance in the half-time of the Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl LX will take place on February 8, 2026 in the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California (in the San Francisco Bay Area). This year Donald Trump was also personally there. His participation will also be expected in the coming year. Perhaps he has a reasonable opinion about Bad Bunny until then.
