Both were born too early babies and were initially held in incubators instead of their mothers, according to the Kronen Zeitung newspaper.
One of the women heard years ago that she could not be the biological child of the couple who had raised her. A blood donation had revealed an incompatible blood group. Despite research in the hospital and a public call in 2016, the other family could not be found.
The second woman discovered a few weeks ago during her pregnancy that her blood type did not match that of her parents. She made the connection with the unsolved baby exchange shop and contacted the other woman. A DNA test then confirmed the change, according to ORF.
