The A50 and A77 motorways will be partly closed this week in the evening and night hours. This is necessary because Rijkswaterstaat has maintenance work carried out. For road users this means that they are confronted with extra travel time.
The first part of the road that is taken care of is on the A77. Between the Rijkevoort and exit junction (2) Gennep to Germany, this piece from the highway will be closed from Monday 9 pm to Tuesday 7 October 5 am. The other side is the A77 closed between driveway (2) Gennep and Knooppunt Rijkevoort towards Nijmegen and Venray from Thursday 9 October 9 pm to Friday 10 October 5 am.
Stomach
On the A50, traffic on Tuesday (night) and Wednesday (night) must take into account a blockage. It is the first on Tuesday 7 October between the Ekkersrijt and driveway (11) Veghel to Nijmegen junction (11) from 9 p.m. to Wednesday 8 October 5 am.
Between driveway (11) Veghel and exit (8) Son en Breugel, the A50 towards Eindhoven is closed from Wednesday 8 October 9 pm to Thursday 9 October 5 am.
Yellow plates
Yellow signs provide information about the work and traffic measures on site. Rijkswaterstaat hopes that traffic will take the adapted route and speeds into account.
The job falls under the maintenance contract that Rijkswaterstaat has carried out. It concerns regular maintenance that road network, viaducts, bridges and tunnels need in its time. This includes asphalting, replacing joint transitions, cutting and pruning work, asphalt cleaning and maintenance of the crash barrier. Everything of course to eventually achieve a smooth and safe flow for traffic.
