The city council has been thinking for some time about ways to limit car traffic in the center. Some streets, such as Steenstraat and Katelijnestraat, are already partly car -free. N-VA wants to extend that principle to the entire historic center, following the example of Copenhagen.
The party proposes a baseline measurement and evaluation during the trial period. “If it turns out that it is not a good idea, we must be able to reverse it,” De Vreese emphasizes. N-VA Brugge will soon be officially presenting the proposal to the city council.
