“I thought it would be nice to organize something yourself, something you don’t hear that often,” says Nikki Spermon. She wanted to do something for fellow human beings especially for the week. Precisely because she knows how annoying loneliness can be.
“I recognize that feeling. Sometimes I also feel alone. I also miss it to be in groups. That’s why it was extra fun to do this with a number of others,” says Speron.
Enthusiastic reactions
She shared a message online asking if people wanted to participate in this project. “I received some nice reactions. Those were not all people who feel lonely. But also people who like to do something for someone else.”
She also received help from Stad, a foundation that helps young people with special projects. “I knew that I wanted to do something, but not exactly how to tackle that. In the end I was able to set this up with the city.”
New event
At Zorgvilla Marijke Elisabeth it was at least a great success, as can be seen in the video above. Spermon will soon be organizing a new event, then at the Vivium Godelinde residential care center in Bussum.
