Storm Amy pulls over the Netherlands: code yellow and heavy gusts of wind
The KNMI has expanded the number of provinces to which Code Geel applies to heavy gusts of wind. The warning was previously announced for Zeeland, Noord-Brabant, Zuid-Holland, Noord-Holland, Friesland, the IJsselmeer area, the Wadden Sea and the Wadden Islands. In the meantime, Utrecht, Gelderland, Limburg and Flevoland have also been added.
The KNMI reports that heavy gusts of wind occur in the entire coastal area on Saturday morning. Especially early in the morning that is also possible further inland. The time when the warning for Storm Amy starts varies per area and its duration also varies per province.
In South Holland and Noord-Holland, Code Geel has power from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. In Zeeland and Friesland the wind warning applies from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. In the four provinces, code yellow then applies from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. In the afternoon, Code Geel is also in force for the IJsselmeer and Wadden area.
In Flevoland, Utrecht and Noord-Brabant, code yellow on Saturday morning between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Gelderland and Limburg must take heavy gusts of wind into account between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
For the Wadden area, the warning has been expanded until Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m.
