Laura Dahlmeier died in a recovery accident in July. Your manager now processes grief in a public post.

Two months after Laura Dahlmeier’s death, her manager Sophie Schröder commented on the difficult time afterwards. “I thought about it for a long time whether I should comment on it. But what I experienced is part of my professional reality,” she wrote on the LinkedIn platform. The weeks after the accident were an exceptional situation for her as a manager, confidante and mourners. “We were a strong team – you are missing,” she wrote in the direction of the former biathlete.

Dealing with the enormous media attention and public sympathy was particularly challenging. Schröder said that she acted in “Laura’s sense”, passed on necessary information and at the same time tried to protect the athlete’s privacy.

“We still had a lot together. It is still difficult to understand that we will no longer realize all of this together,” said Schröder and concluded her post with the words: “At the latest now Laura would say: ‘Mimimi, end with whining.”

Laura Dahlmeier died in mountaineering in the Pakistani Karakorum Mountains at the end of July. The 31-year-old, two-time Olympic champion and seven-time world champion, was on Laila Peak when she was hit by Steinschlag.
