Most recently, the Austrian national coach was severely restricted, then there were also unexpected difficulties. But now his return is imminent.
Positive news for Ralf Rangnick and the Austrian national team: The ÖFB team boss was released from the Murnau accident clinic in Bavaria on Thursday. This was confirmed by a spokesman for the Austrian Football Association to APA.
So nothing stands in the way of returning to the sidelines. As planned, Rangnick will lead the national team course next Monday-with a view to the World Cup qualifiers on October 9 in Vienna against San Marino and on October 12th in Bucharest against Romania.
The 67-year-old had recently had to undergo several operations on the ankle. There were complications during a long -planned intervention in June: Rangnick had caught a hospital germ. The symptoms became increasingly serious – over two weeks of inpatient treatment in the Murnau Clinic was the result, including further interventions.
