Half of incidents with pedestrians not during crossing: “It often goes wrong on the footpath”

In the event of accidents with pedestrians, we often think of people who are hit when they cross the street. That is often the case, but almost half of the incidents with pedestrians also happen when they are on the footpath, a cycle path or in a pedestrian zone. This is apparent from a new study of the VIAS Road Safety Institute.
