The Nils-Ole Book, traded as the successor to the resigned sports director Roland Virkus near Borussia Mönchengladbach, will not leave second division SV 07 Elversberg prematurely. Instead, the 39-year-old extended his contract, as the Saarland club announced on Wednesday without responding to the term-and gave a change to a change.

“We have built something together at SV Elversberg in recent years, which we can be proud of,” said Book in a statement. “We celebrated unforgettable successes and milestones, but also mastered great challenges. A connection has arisen and mutual trust has grown, which I really appreciate and what is a prerequisite for a common and successful future for me. I look forward to the tasks that are still ahead of us and to further shape the future in this club.”

Book’s good eye for talents: Woltemade & Co.

The former professional of MSV Duisburg and SV Wehen Wiesbaden has been active on the Kaiserlinde since 2017: first as a scout, then five years as sports director and since 2023 as a sports board. Under Book’s directing, the club made the leap from the regional league to the 2nd Bundesliga, where Elversberg only failed in the relegation in the relegation on the Bundesliga promotion. Book has made a name for himself with skillful transfers, especially borrowing great talents.

So he got Nick Woltemade on loan from Werder Bremen, Paul Wanner from FC Bayern and last year Muhammed Damar and Fisnik Asllani from TSG Hoffenheim. This year, among other things, the Stuttgart talent Jarzinho Malanga and HSV jewel Otto Stange are to make the breakthrough in Elversberg. Book also demonstrated his good eye on Younes Ebnoutalib, for example, who came from the regional league from FC Gießen for only 100,000 euros in January and had already achieved six second division goals this season.

SVE President Dominik Holzer praised: “The successful path that the SVE has contested in recent years is a special feature-and closely connected to a name. Ole Book has done enormous things over the years over the years, even if the tasks were remarkable as this summer. We are very happy that it will continue to bear sporting responsibility. This decision is of great importance for us.”
