Two locations are further investigated
Especially about the field of Hockeyclub WFHC, there was a lot of discussion during the council meeting. According to the municipality, the field is no longer used, but chairman Joris Lemckert stated that this is indeed the case. “The vitality and the survival of our club is at stake, and that is very concerned,” he emphasized again last night. If it is up to Lemckert, the field will be deleted.
He received support from a large part of the city council, which jointly had an amendment to remove this location. “Due to the simple fact that the field is simply in use and there is a very long lease agreement,” explained Wouter de Vries (D66).
The amendment was adopted by a large majority: 29 votes in favor and 6 against. The two other locations, a vacant rugby field and a horse meadow, may be further investigated as far as the council is concerned. The proposal to convert the former school building in the Hoorn-Noord district into a temporary emergency shelter did not get a majority.
A7 still in Bobeldijk
The shot preferred location, a pasture along the A7 near Bobeldijk, was also discussed several times during the council meeting. “We are absolutely working on that,” mayor Jan Nieuwenburg responded to the call to reconsider this location.
He indicated that the A7 is still preferred, provided that Koggenland cooperates. “We do not have the impression that Koggenland does not want, but they are pushing it ahead and that is very extremely,” said the mayor.
A motion adopted by the CDA, who calls on to request the asylum minister to designate the A7 as a location under the Spreading Act, gave extra weight to this call.
The municipal administration still has a few days to list everything. The final decision on the proposed locations must fall on 7 October.
