Olli Rauste’s book reveals a special episode.
According to Olli Rauste, the rave played “Circle game”. Tiina Somerpuro
Olli Rauste says in a recent memoir Olli Rauste: Top Sports Lawyer (Docendo) In a case where he became a “racing horse’s lawyer.”
In 1998, Rauste ended up representing a company that owned a ravine called Super Somolli.
“My principal was a horse”Rauste carves in her book.
The lawyer was alerted when the organizer of the Greater Hollola Ajo suddenly denied Super Somoll’s competition law just a week before the race.
The organizer announced that the horse, coached in Sweden, had not made a sufficiently recent competition in Finland to participate in the Greater Hollola driving.
The owner of Super Somoll got in touch with Raus, who came up with a quick solution to the situation.
As a traditional trial would take too long, Rauste applied for an urgent procedure for the district court.
“I asked for the district court to oblige the Greater Hollola organizer to allow Super Somoll to participate in the competition under the threat of a fine.”
The money went
The safety measure was imposed and the horse was able to compete – until it was removed from the track during the warm -up. According to Rauste, the organizer had played a “cycle of game”.
Super Somolli lost its chances of prize money, which had been hit by one of the pre -favorites of the race.
Thus, the horse owner raised an action for damages, which led to a nearly four -year legal process.
The court had to guess how Super Somolli would have done in the race. Eventually, its owners were ordered to pay FIM 75,000, which corresponded to the prize money from the fourth place.
“To avoid such difficult assessment situations, many sports have now switched into practice to allow an athlete to participate in the competition under the threat of rejection, even if his or her right of participation is unclear.”
“It is always easier to pull the name of an abandoned athlete over the aftermath than to guess how he might have been successful in the competition if he or she had been allowed to participate.”
