He himself was not there, but ‘Rotondeman’ Sieb de Boer now has his own bench on his favorite roundabout. A few days after he became fame, the municipality of Assen put the bench for him.
The 92-year-old Sieb is on his walker every day at the roundabout on Maria in Campislaan and the Nobellaan in Assen. Cattle nicer than just sitting at home. “I Koekeloer a little in all directions. And sometimes beautiful vehicles come by,” he says about it.
Sieb’s video was shared online thousands of times. The Asser alderman Jan Broekema (SP) also saw the video pass by. “We saw the item by Mr. de Boer who sits here every day and then we thought, it is so beautiful and easy to put a bench.”
For example, Sieb no longer has to sit on his walker and next to him there is room for someone who wants to tie a conversation.
