Harry Kane gives FC Bayern great joy. The player recently said that one could talk about an extension of the contract. Now Max Eberl reports.
Harry Kane has a contract until summer 2027 at FC Bayern Munich. But the time of the striker at the German record champion does not have to end – at least if it goes according to the sports director Max Eberl. He explained that a contract extension of the player with the club was “absolutely conceivable”. Eberl added: “That is why we will discuss the next steps with him.”
Immediately before the flight to Larnaka, where the Munich team in Limassol meets Master Pafos FC on Tuesday evening in the Champions League (from 9 p.m. in the T-Online live ticker), the 52-year-old emphasized Kanes. He called him an “absolute leader” and emphasized that it was “cool” to collect titles with Bayern. Kane himself also saw this in this way, says Eberl: “We want that with him for a long time.”
Eberl does not see the fact that the attacker will be 34 years old at the end of his current contract. He had learned from Hans Meyer that the right mix in the squad was crucial. Exceptional quality players could play an important role even at older age. At Kane there are no signs of aging anyway, rather he looks “as if he had fallen into a fountain of fountain”.
Kane has been delivering the right arguments since his change: In eight competitive games, he already has 18 goal participations this season. After the 4-0 against Werder Bremen, he himself emphasized that he was “really happy” in Munich. Beyond a future beyond 2027, one could “talk safely”.
Eberl also commented on the DAYOT UPAMECANO personnel. The French international’s contract expires at the end of the season. “We are trying to continue to convince him of the Bayern Munich project,” said Eberl: “We want to keep it.”
