The EO, Omroep Human and the VPRO will form a broadcaster home together. That report The three Monday. The partnership is given the name Het Huis van de floor.
According to the three broadcasters, it is “a house where different perspectives reinforce each other in the search for the deeper layers of life.” With this they want to respond to the current time, “in which fragmentation and increasing contradictions” are visible.
The broadcasters come from different traditions: the Christian faith (EO), Humanism (Human) and Free Thinking (VPRO). “From there we look at the world as a place where differences are cherished instead of polished.”

The establishment of a new broadcasting house is in line with the reform plans of former Minister of Education, Culture and Media Eppo Bruins (NSC). He presented the plan in April to bring the thirteen public broadcasters together in a limited number of broadcasting houses. That should lead to more efficiency, less costs and a smaller administrative layer.
Shortly after, the cabinet fell, and Bruins left as a minister. This made unclear how the plans would continue. Bruins seem to continue broadcasters. The EO, Human and the VPRO forms the second broadcaster within the NPO: In April AVROTROS and Powned already announced that they will continue together.
