SC Freiburg had to be satisfied with a point in the Baden Bundesliga duel against TSG Hoffenheim. In a game of poor, the two clubs separated 1: 1 (1: 1) in front of 33,700 spectators in the Europa-Park Stadium. Lukas Kübler (3rd minute) had already brought the Freiburg team of coach Julian Schuster in the lead in the 3rd minute. Fisnik Asllani (13th) equalized with his fourth goal – after that little happened.
Four days after the 2-1 against FC Basel in the Europa League and four days before the next international challenge on Thursday at Bologna FC, the Breisgauen lacked punch. After two league successes against VfB Stuttgart and at Werder Bremen it was enough for the SC to a draw against mostly well-stocked Hoffenheimers.
The TSG lost in April for the last time, 2: 3 in Freiburg. In the third head of the season abroad, Christian Ilzer’s team already collected the seventh point.
At the hosts, Eren Dinkçi replaced the suspended Johan Manzambi in the attack. In the offensive switch on veteran Andrej Kramaric, Ilzer put on the 21-year-old Muhammed Damar instead of FC Bayern.
“We have to want it more, have to force it more. Everyone in the stadium has to see it today,” Schuster said before the kick -off at the broadcasting station “DAZN” when asked what the game would decide.
The SC professionals demonstrated will and overview right after three minutes: After a corner, the guests let the ball through to Junior Adamu, whose presentation dusted Kübler to 1-0. The early goal also stopped the video evidence – Freiburg felt on the right track.
But the Hoffenheimers took up speed in the initially brisk game. Vladimír Coufal used a ball loss of Captain Vincenzo Grifo for a precise cross. The new striker Asllani thanked the equalization.
Goal scorer Kübler then had to go down at the SC before the break: a head collision with Bernardo, who continued to play with a turban, had added too much to him. The longer interruption was not good for the game, everything seemed a bit torn until half -time.

In the second round, the Breisgauer took over the events a little more. Especially since in midfield Maximilian Eggestein and Patrick Osterhage, the two goal scorers from Basel-Sieg, Kramaric and Co. Schwermacht, to raise their game. Ilzer brought another creative force with Damar, his colleague Schuster in Igor Matanovic and Derry Scherhann two new attackers.
A dangerous end of Osterhage still caused excitement, otherwise there was not much happened. In the final phase, SC keeper Noah Atubolu saved his team from deficiency with strong parades against Tim Lemperle and Ihlas Bebou. Freiburg against Hoffenheim also remained unbeaten in the ninth competitive game in series.
