A motorist drove on at the start of the evening after a collision with a cyclist in Klazienaveen. The accident happened on the Veenhoeksweg.
Due to an unknown cause, the car and cyclist clashed together. The driver of the car then ran away. A police spokesperson says that this motorist is still being sought.
Sight screens were placed around the location of the accident while emergency services took care of the cyclist. Among other things, a trauma helicopter arrived.
The wounded cyclist was taken to a hospital. A police spokesperson could not yet say how serious the injuries are. The police are investigating the Veenhoeksweg.
