Ukrainian drones meet oil pump station near Volga
Ukraine has damaged an oil pump station in the Russian sub-republic of Choevasjia near the Volga River in a drone attack. The damage is small, the governor of the region wrote Oleg Nikolajev, although he had to admit that the pumping station is “out of operation”. There were no injuries.
The oil pump station is located in Konar, a place nearly sixty kilometers southeast of Tsjeboksary, capital of Choevasjië. The station is part of the Droezjba pipeline, with which Russia transports oil to the west.
In the past few months, Ukraine has repeated attacks on the Russian oil industry. In this way it disrupts the supply of fuel for the Russian army. At the same time, it makes it difficult to finance the financing of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
