The duo from Canada demolished everything there was in 2012 with songs like “Obedear” and “Fineshrine”: Pitchfork favorite, Polaris-Prize nomination, soundtrack for series such as “Skins”, “Search Party” or “Runaways” by Marvel, they cooperated with Danny Brown, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

Does that have to be bad? No: “Relict” moves directly into this strange world, “Imanocean” seems almost danceable and positive, “Memory Ruins” is Purity Ring’s version of Bubblegum Pop and the song that Grimes would have liked to have written. Corin Roddick and Megan James do not present something completely new, but a successful further development of their sound.
