Because there are too few psychiatrists and directors at the Acute Care clinic in Assen, fewer people can temporarily be admitted to one of the High Care recording departments of GGZ Drenthe.
With clinical acute care, a patient needs immediate care because there is a life -threatening situation or the risk of serious health damage. A high care department is a department within clinical acute care, for patients who need intensive medical care.
GGZ Drenthe says in the message that they ‘do everything they can to find psychiatrists and other directors for clinical care, so that the recording top in this department takes as short as possible’. The mental health care also states that ‘care for people in a psychiatric crisis continues’ and that they are even more committed to preventing admission to a clinic’. This is possible, for example, by giving crisis assistance to your home.
If admission to a clinic really cannot be prevented, it will be searched for whether there is room in other clinics in the northern regions, according to GGZ Drenthe.
