The Eisbären Berlin lost the third game in a row in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

On Friday evening, the German champion lost to Straubing Tigers 2: 3 (0: 0, 1: 1, 1: 1, 0: 1) after extra time.

Gates from Ty Ronning, and Leonhard Pföderl were not enough for the capitals to avert the renewed defeat.

Compensation falls 14 seconds before the end

In front of 13,883 spectators in the arena at the Ostbahnhof, the home side made some time penalties in the opening third and remained largely harmless on the offensive. The guests were much more dangerous. Eisbear goalkeeper Jonas Stettmer was able to prevent a gap for a long time with good parades.

It was only shortly after the first break that the Berlin goalkeeper had to give up. Tim Fleischer scored for the Straubinger in the 22nd minute. However, the hosts immediately answered: Ronning successfully completed a single -handedly (23rd). The template came from newcomer Patrick Khodorenko, who made his debut for the polar bears.

The Berliners now managed to build pressure at least temporarily and went into the lead in the final section with a goal from Pföderl (46.). Because again Fleischer equalized for the guests 14 seconds before the end of the regular season, the extension was used in which Nicholas Halloran made the decision in favor of the Straubinger (63.).
