Antti Pennanen is not yet promising Geneve-Servvette players in the November Tampere EHT tournament.
- The Lions season starts in November, and there are a large number of high quality Finnish hockey players in Switzerland.
- The Finnish chain of Geneva is in a brilliant stroke right from the start.
- Antti Pennanen now tells about the situation of familiar lion stars.
Sakari Manninen, an Olympic champion and double world champion, tells you why the cooperation with Markus Granlund and Jesse Puljujärvi is so great on the Geneve-Servvette team.
– It has good elements. We have chemistry. Successes feed on self -confidence, so it feels good to play with the reel.
The 33-year-old center also wants to improve the game he leads.
– We always want to look at how to invest and be in the rink to make better use of everyone’s strengths. There are always snippets in the game that you have to play and defend your own. It has to be sensible and moderate to make it reasonably attack, Manninen says.
There are currently a total of six Finns on the payroll of the Swiss Geneve servette. Pekka Kangasalu (left), Vili Saarijärvi, Sakari Manninen, Markus Granlund, Jesse Puljujärvi and Ville Peltonen. Timo Kunnari
Granlund and Manninen have previously played together in KHL and Switzerland.
– That’s where we have some pretty good stuff. Having played with “Manen” for many years, he is a familiar guy. Now Jesse jumped with that and he is a great gamer. Jesse is able to do a lot of good things in the rink, says Granlund.
– We still have a lot to do, but we are on the way.

Manninen and Granlund played in Geneve-servette last season, Manninen in the previous one. Puljujärvi arrived in a French -speaking city this season.
The 27-year-old Puljujärvi has produced 1+10 = 11 points in the first seven games and is third in the high-level Swiss League.
– Jesse has learned well in the ways of the house. There’s a conscientious guy, hard to train. Everyone in the booth likes Jesse, says Manninen.
32-year-old Granlund has played six games this season and scored 4+2 = 6 points. The attacker is an Olympic champion.
33-year-old Manninen, Granlund’s perennial pair of KHL and Switzerland, has made 2+6 = 8 points for seven games. Manninen is a two -time world champion and an Olympic champion.
“High -quality players”

Geneve-servette is second in the Swiss league, meaning that the Finnish trio is doing a good job at the absolute peak of European hockey. And in a series where wages are highly compared to the SM League.
The trio would also have use in the Lion, whose season will start in November with the Tampere Euro Hockey Tour.
-I have not yet commented on Karelia’s choices. But in a good place these players are now, there is a good environment. Their predictions are closely followed, they are good players, says Antti Pennanen, head coach of the national team, to Iltalehti.
– The Swiss series is really tough. The top players there are quite top level. And high -quality players will significantly increase the level of its series.
Are you surprised that Puljujärvi is doing so quickly a good result?
– I’m not. Although it probably takes a little time to get used to the little trough again. But Jesse has already played a lot of games, Pennanen says.
