The impacts are getting closer, and that’s a good thing: A few days ago, The Cure announced her first European concert for the coming year. Robert Smith and the band appear on August 30, 2026 at the “Rock en his” festival in France, in the park of the Saunt-Cloud Castle in Saint-Cloud, west of Paris.
Now the next live appointment for 2026 has been determined. The Cure are headliners of the Nova Rock Festival. On Friday (“Friday I’m on Love”! “), June 12, the British play the headlining stage in Nickelsdorf, Austria.
Booking is quite unusual. The Nova Rock actually stands for hard rock to Metal. The other headliners of the three -day festival include Volbeat and Iron Maiden. The offspring and a Perfect Circle appear before The Cure, for example. Smith will be surprised …
Now the question arises: do the Cure 2026 also come to Germany? While the line-up of Rock am Ring/ Rock in the Park and Hurricane/ Southside is largely certain, the band in this country probably only remained non-festival-independent open-air gigs.
It is also possible that Cure tours of Europe on large hall tours in autumn and then of course also stopped in Germany.
We recently reported:
Olivia Rodrigo brought Robert Smith on stage for a surprise appearance during her set on Sunday evening at the Glastonbury Festival. Together they performed a rousing duet of the Cure hit “Friday I’m in Love” from 1992 and “Just Like Heaven” from 1987.
Surprise duet with Robert Smith
Rodrigo announced Smith with the words: “He may be the best songwriter that England has ever produced. He is a Glastonbury legend and a personal model of mine.” The artists presented the two songs with acoustic guitar and vocals.
On Sunday evening, Rodrigos marked the first time as a headliner on the Pyramid Stage in Glastonbury. “Holy shit, these are most people I have ever seen in my life,” she said, according to Variety. “This is a dream that has become true, I can’t believe that this is my life.”
The week before, Rodrigo and Ed Sheeran performed “The A Team” at a sold -out concert in the London Hyde Park. “I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite British and one of the best songwriters of all time,” said Rodrigo before taking Sheeran on stage. Both singers played acoustic guitar and changed with the stanzas at Sheerans Hit and debut single from 2011. Rodrigo explained to social media that this was “literally one of my favorite songs of all time”.

She also covered the hit “I love you” from Fontaines DC in Dublin during her appearance in Marlay Park. “Lately I’ve been totally obsessed with this band Fontaines DC,” Rodrigo told the audience. “I played this song all by myself – just for fun – and I thought it would be cool if I also played it for you.”
Rodrigo’s tour continues today and tomorrow evening in Manchester before it travels to Europe for a number of concerts and festival appearances.
