Zoetermeer becomes one green town mentioned, but with all climate changes, more trees are needed to cool down, collect rainwater and make insects and birds happy. That is why the municipality of Zoetermeer is giving away free trees. You can choose from seven beauties that are also delivered to your home.

Last year was the first Bomenweggeefactie and, according to the municipality, that was such a success that we can score for free trees again this year. So remove those tiles from your garden and plant a tree in it. Do you already see yourself sitting on a garden bench in the shade during a heat wave to listen to the gethjirp of the birds?

Tiles out, tree in it

Of course, tiles in the back garden are practical, handy and maintenance -friendly. But you don’t pull whistling great tits, butterflies or bees. The more green in your garden, the finer for the birds, insects and other animals. In addition, more trees ensure both cooling on hot days and better water drainage after rain.

This way you get a free tree

So what are you waiting for? Wip a few tiles from your garden and plant a tree. You can request your free ornamental apple, crystal willow, rowan or red cherry plum at the latest on Sunday 28 October via this form. You can choose from seven tree species that can reach a maximum of eight meters high. So keep in mind enough space in your garden so that the tree can grow well.

The municipality will deliver your free tree in the evenings (between 5 pm and 9 pm) to your home between Saturday 11 and Saturday 18 October.
