Eintracht Frankfurt delighted in the 5-1 win against Galatasaray Istanbul. Trainer Dino Toppmöller received prominent congratulations.

Eintracht trainer Dino Toppmöller received congratulations from a prominent side after the 5-1 win against Galatasaray Istanbul. “Thomas Müller also reported. He wrote that we made a great game and should continue,” said Toppmöller. The 2014 world champion had followed the game from his new home Vancouver.

“You are pleased. You can see that it is a platform that everyone has on the screen in football. But I’m happy about every single message,” said the Frankfurt coach. Toppmöller had already worked closely with Müller at Bayern as the assistant coach of Julian Nagelsmann.

After the rushing evening in Europe, the view of the Bundesliga is going back to the Bundesliga. The Eintracht Union Berlin receives on Sunday (3.30 p.m. in the live ticker on T-Online). “We lost against the boys here at home last year and still have it in mind,” said Toppmöller: “A certain anger is already because we know that it was totally unnecessary and that we want to do it differently on Sunday.”

Captain Robin Koch is available again. He had complained about pain before the Galatasaray game and had been replaced in the 79th minute. Toppmöller left open whether goalkeeper Kauã Santos will be between the posts for the first time this season after his recovery.
