The Dutchman was initially arrested in the center of Sant Antoni de Portmany, in the north of Ibiza because of a traffic violation. Because it noticed the agents of the Spanish Guardia Civil that he responded very nervously, they decided to search his car. They found a bag full of hard drugs in his trunk. It contained more than five kilos of ketamine in powder form, 1420 grams of MDMA and more than five thousand pink XTC pills. He also had more than 2300 euros in cash with him.

The police seized the hard drugs, just like the money and the car with which the Dutchman transported the drugs. Two mobile phones were also seized.

He has since been brought before the court, who has determined that he will remain in custody without bail. It is being investigated whether he is part of a larger network.

Drug trafficking in Ibiza big problem

In addition, the increased use of laughing gas is striking.

They are results of the summer operation Zulu-Bravo, which is set up to tackle drug trafficking in the most important tourist hotspots. Especially at the most important access points of the island, in the harbor and at the airport, large quantities were seized. Only in the port is it about 2500 kilos of hashish, 10 kilos of cocaine and 900 MDMA pills. The Guardia Civil has emphasized that there is strict checks with open and secret surveillances on roads, in port areas and at the airport. The actions aim, among other things, to protect the image of Ibiza as a holiday island.
