Giulia Gwinn is facing a possible squad comeback at FC Bayern. After her knee injury to the European Championship in summer, the international could be again for the Bundesliga club on Saturday this season. According to the club, the 26-year-old is again an option for the contingent in the home game against Carl Zeiss Jena (2 p.m./DAZN and Magenta Sport).
The right-back had injured the DFB women against Poland on the left knee in the DFB women’s European Championship. Because of the inner ligament injury, she missed the further tournament course – but the team continued to accompany the team next to the square. In the past, Gwinn had fought back twice after a cruciate ligament tear.
A successful comeback at the club could also have an impact on your role in the national team. For the semi -finals of the Nations League against France, Gwinn is considered a possible candidate for the squad of national coach Christian Wück. The first leg will take place on October 24th in Düsseldorf (5.45 p.m./ARD), the second leg four days later in Caen (9:10 p.m.). In the European Championship quarter-finals, the French recently switched off the DFB team.
