Employees of the Aldi supermarket on Hoofdstraat in Rijen raised the alarm on Thursday morning because they feared that hazardous substances had been released. The fire brigade took measurements around half past seven and then concluded that that was not the case. It happens more often that defective cooling installations of supermarkets leak dangerous substances. Whether that is also the case is also unclear. The supermarket was not yet open to customers.
