Obama’s honor: Redford received the highest US award
The Obama Foundation mourned for Redford with the words: “From legendary films to the protection of our national parks, he inspired many people through his commitment, charisma and passion.” In 2016, Barack Obama awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States, during his Redford presidency.
