Biathlon star Johannes Dale-Skjevdal enjoys his new life as a father. The Norwegian ski hunter had to rush home from the training camp in Italy in order to be there at birth.
Johannes Dale-Skjevdal stayed in the altitude training camp in Italy when he received a call from his wife. “It doesn’t happen often that she calls me before breakfast. Then I realized that I just had to go home,” the 28-year-old revealed in an interview with the Norwegian broadcaster “TV2”.
Dale-Skjevdal didn’t have much time. The biathlon star took the plane from Milan to Oslo. Then he continued to Lillehammer around 180 kilometers away.
“When I arrived, we were only at home for 45 minutes before we had to go to the hospital. It got pretty tight. I was very happy that I reached the first plane. Otherwise I would have arrived in the middle of the birth,” said the ski hunter.
Biathlon dream couple get offspring
The Norwegian has been married to former biathlete Kristina Skjevdal since 2023. Son Jon is the couple’s first child.
“You got my grandfather’s name. If you are only half as generous, hardworking and good as he is, then you will be a great guy!” Dale-Skjevdal finally wrote on Instagram.
The European biathlon European champion from 2022 is looking forward to the new section of his life.
“I am prepared that my life will be different, but I see it as something positive. I already had the feeling that I need more last autumn. I am now 28 years old, and after many years of one-sided concentration on top sports, I was incredibly fun. Nevertheless, I noticed last year that I needed more substance in life,” said Dale-Skjevdal in May to Norwegian time “Dagbladet”.
