In their surroundings they ensure that Javier Milei had the decision made a week before the Mazazo that the Government suffered in the Buenos Aires elections. On Sunday before that debacle, the libertarian candidate in Corrientes, Lisandro Almirón, left fourth in that province and lit all the alarms for the poor results that the space has been obtaining in the interior of the country. Almirón is a man who refers in “Lule” Menem, the second of Karina Milei in the General Secretariat of the Presidency, and who, like other applicants of the party, did not live up to it. “Lule” drags an extra problem, that of the Coimagate, where it is indicated as the informal collector of the supposed bribes of the 3 percent that the pharmacists who have contracts with the State in the disability area should pay. In short, the Riojan seemed to have the chopped ticket.

However, he reached that the president insinuated to ask for his head after the defeat in Corrientes so that Karina, in the spot, would be planted: no one leaves here, he told his brother. And “Lule” stayed.

Santiago Caputo, the star advisor of Milei, had been the first to feed the idea that the controversial official could serve as a “fuse” of the case of coimas to preserve the president’s sister, but ran into the same impassable wall. Karina is her rival in the internal of the so -called iron triangle and, after the attempt of “Santi”, he not only held “Lule” by his side, but at the same time promoted his cousin, Martín Menem, as a member of the new “political table” launched last week by the government. At that table, Martín has the same range as Caputo, although he also was splashed by the Coimagate: it happens that the head of the Chamber of Deputies was the alleged link with the Argentine Swiss drugstore, indicated as a vehicle of the bribes.

Karina’s denial, which insists on holding the Menem in the middle of the storm, may have to do with her lack of political experience. The officials are there, in cases of crisis, so that the water does not reach their superiors. If the fuse does not end up being “lule”, to name the most questioned name, the one that follows in the row is none other than Karina. And behind her, the president.

But is it so easy to throw someone who is accused of collecting left with the endorsement of his boss, that is, to “steal for the crown”, as it was said, precisely, in the years of menemism? Did letting go to the Riojan cousins would not be a very big risk? On the other hand, how much does it cost to the Government, in terms of image, hold them?

The temporary solution that Karina Milei found is not to throw it “lule”, but neither show it. It is hidden.

The October elections will say if with that.
