FC Bayern, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen invested around 1.16 billion euros for their current squad. The three clubs together spent as much for their teams as the Chelsea FC alone, which raised EUR 1.17 billion for his squad. A look at the international purchasing value statistics at the transfer market shows how many replacement every club has paid for its players and how this sum is in relation to the current total value.
The top 10 in this statistics is dominated by the Premier League-only three clubs do not come from England’s football upper house. In addition to Chelsea, Manchester City also spent more than one billion euros for his team (EUR 1.03 billion), FC Liverpool missed this brand with just 994 million euros. The first non-English association is Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain (798 million euros) in seventh, behind it follows Real Madrid with 754 million euros and in ten Juventus Turin is 489 million euros. The first German representative is FC Bayern as the 13th, who cost his squad 442 million euros. The BVB (EUR 368 million) and the Werkself (EUR 356 million) are in places 22 and 23.
There were a few shifts compared to last year. After a summer shopping tour of almost half a billion, Liverpool made a leap from seven to three, the Bavaria slipped slightly from eleven to 13 and new among the top 20 is to be found in 20th place after investments of EUR 237 million.
Man united with the greatest minus between shopping and squad value
If you now look at the difference between purchasing value and overall market value, five clubs have a negative balance. Among them is Chelsea, which spends a good 94 million euros more for its players than they are currently worth. Even blatant is the difference between these values at Manchester United, in which a minus of 222 million euros is available. The further weakening English record champion currently has a taxation of 723 million euros, but for all of his professionals the Red Devils had spent 946 million euros. This negative difference worldwide is unsurpassed.
Examples of this are Harry Maguire, for which EUR 87 million were transferred to Leicester City in 2019, which is now only worth EUR 13 million instead of 50 million, or Casemiro. The Brazilian came for almost 71 million euros in 2022, but will only be rated at EUR 10 million.
Al-Hilal also invested significantly more for his players than they are worth-this is because in the Saudi Pro League for prominent names from Europe and domestic stars are paid significantly above the market value. For example, 417 million euros in costs of EUR 215 million are compared – makes a minus of EUR 202 million. Similarly, even if in a somewhat weakened form, the other Saudi clubs al-ittihad (-147 million euros) and al-Nahli (-130 million euros) look like.
A club from Germany can also be found in the front places in relation to the greatest discrepancy between shopping and overall market value: RB Leipzig. In the course of a disappointing last season without qualifying for a European competition, the Saxon value of 453 million euros slipped from EUR 341 million from EUR 453 million in July 2024. However, 371 million euros were paid for all players of the squad, so the bottom line is -30 million euros. This summer, among other things, sums above the market value for Rômulo (transfer: 20 million, MW: 11 million) or Yan Diomande (transfer: 20 million, MW: 1.5 million) were issued.
FC Bayern under top-3 in the added value
It looks completely different at Bayern. The Munich players have a clear plus of EUR 463 million and are therefore in the world in the world. Players like Jonathan Tah or Tom Bischof came to the German record champions for very low replacement with significantly higher market values - 53 million euros were put on the table for Michael Olise, but since then the wing striker has increased his taxation from 55 million to 100 million euros. There are also own plants such as Aleksandar Pavlovic, Jamal Musiala and Josip Stanisic.
Bavaria’s plus only outbid FC Barcelona (+698 million euros) and Real Madrid (+644 million euros). The Catalans, who are forced to austerity due to financial problems and are increasingly relying on their own plants, have the most fifth -valuable team with EUR 1.11 billion, but only spent EUR 412 million. Lamine Yamal, who is currently the highest -esteemed footballer in the world, which Barça has trained himself, makes up for 200 million euros. Eight more own plants with ratings of 363 million euros are part of the squad.
Real also comes to an extremely positive balance. At 1.40 billion euros, the royal not only have the most valuable squad, but also spent little money in relation to it – the added value is 644 million euros. The reason for this is two factors. On the one hand, the Madrilenen professionals in young age and develop them further. Examples of this are Vinicius Junior and Federico Valverde, which came at the age of 18 for 45 million and 5 million euros and are now worth 170 million and 130 million euros. On the other hand, the change from Kylian Mbappé still has a major impact on these statistics. The French top star came to Real from PSG last summer and is the second most valuable player worldwide with a market value of 180 million euros. Since no transfer has been flowed in the event of his obligation – not taken into account – he has increased the added value by this sum.
Also Eintracht Frankfurt, Werder Bremen and VfB Stuttgart with value creation plus
In addition to FC Bayern, there are also Eintracht Frankfurt (+161 million euros), Werder Bremen (+153 million euros) and VfB Stuttgart (+148 million euros) in the top 20. For the SGE squad, which is worth EUR 325 million, the responsible investments of EUR 164 million made. Again and again the Hesse has made clever transfers in recent years and trained players with high market values. In the current squad, for example, this applies to Nathaniel Brown, which was obliged to take 3 million euros for market values and is now estimated at EUR 22 million. At Werder, a high part of the amount is due to the six loan players from this summer, for which possibly removing the next year.
