Cole Hocker bumped into a German athlete at the World Athletics World Cup. The Olympic champion was therefore disqualified – and now reported for the first time.
The gold medalist of the Olympic Games in Paris now reacted to this. The 24-year-old wrote on Instagram: “I am very disappointed that I have no chance this year to defend my title over 1,500 meters. As always, championships are unpredictable, but I have no time to feel like myself.” He looks forward to the 5,000 meter lead on Friday. Stools take part in this.
The Olympic champion is stool over this distance, but has not yet won a World Cup medal over the 1,500 meters. Two years ago in Budapest, Vice Olympic champion Josh Kerr secured the gold medal. He could also defend his World Cup title on Wednesday (from 3:20 p.m.).
Farcs can now also take part in the final. He wrote on Instagram for a photo of himself: “World Cup final tomorrow evening.” He received a lot of encouragement underneath. The German tennis ass Eva Lys also commented. She wrote: “LFG”. The abbreviation sthet for “let’s freaking go”, which means “let’s go”.
Farken also explained “Sport1” about the scene with Cole Hocker: “In the repeat you can see very clearly how unfairly stool prevails and how much he gets me out of the rhythm. This was stolen all the strength and was ultimately crucial for the fact that I was not better placed.”
However, the German athlete admitted that he would have wished for his final in difference, since he was very well placed up to the Rempler. Now, however, he looks ahead: “The cards are mixed again”.
