Borussia Mönchengladbach separated from head coach Gerardo Seoane after only three Bundesliga match days, the successor has already been determined.
The Gladbachers officially announced this from Seoane in the late Monday afternoon after several media had previously reported. It is the earliest coaching of the club history.
“After an intensive review of our season start, we were convinced that we have to change the position of head coach,” said sports director Roland Virkus. “After ten Bundesliga games without a victory, faith has disappeared that the change with Gerardo can succeed.”
President Rainer Bonhof said: “Gerardo took over the team in a difficult situation, went on the path of the club, has pushed the team’s development process and stabilized it. However, the end of the season was not the way we imagined and the start of this season was also not. The step to take a new impulse is the right one.”
