First triumph for Tita’s crew in the third of the four races played, but the second day of regattas is canceled and the boat closes ninth
The good news that comes from the France Sail Grand Prix of St. Tropez, a ninth stage of the world circuit that is held on the very fast F50 catamarans, is that Red Bull Italy has finally won a test, the third of the four played. But a warning of storms advised the organizers not to bring the boats (expensive) to the second day thus the result of the fleet regattas, ran with a nice wind, created the final classification. Hence the disappointment of the boat defending the Italian colors, with Skipper Ruggero Tita, who despite the victory concluded in the ninth place, to which he seems subscribed since the beginning of Sail GP.
towards Geneva

“We are a little bitterly bitter that we did not regain on the last day, it could have been a great regatta because yesterday we won a test, confirming that we are working in the right direction. The success makes us realize that we can really be among the first” commented Ruggero Tita, twice Olympic gold before packing the F.50 for Geneva, home to the next stage – the only lake – September 20 and 21. It must be said that to prevent a good result there was the withdrawal in the first test, due to an invaded that damaged the hydraulic system. And also in the final regatta of the only day on which we ran, the Red Bull Italy team did not behave brilliantly ending up in the rear. Now the Italian boat is in ninth place in the circuit ranking, with 22 points: it can lucidly aim to recover a couple of positions in the remaining three stages. The sixth in the ranking is the Canadian Northstar at 47 points. At least the success has given up the group enthusiasm as CEO James Spithill explained. “Saint-Tropez was a fantastic step forward for the team. Now we have to build on this base, but the first step was to demonstrate ourselves that we can win. The whole team will bring this awareness with it and will continue to push”.

The final sprint
–
Surely, the most determined to push will be the four teams that, numbers in hand, are able to conquer the final victory or Black Fails, Emirates Gbr, Bonds Flying Roots and Los Gallos, in order of the ranking. Enclosed in six points while the fourth, France, is almost twenty from the leader. In St. Tropez, he witnessed the very tight duel among the New Zealanders of Black Fails led by Peter Burling (who runs in the circuit with a home crew, while in America’s Cup it is part of the Luna Rossa team) and Emirates Gbr with Skipper Dylan Fletcher. The British have sprung up for one point (31 to 30) which in this way went back to second place in the ranking of the circuit. But the happiest are Burling and his companions who went to the command while he did not go well to the Australians, led by the expert Tom Singsby, and who have the actors Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds as their lenders: the fifth final place made him lose leadership. It should be emphasized that the four tests have had four different winners, to confirm that at least on the single regatta the balance reigns to the delight of the spectators. By the way, the stage on Lake Lemano is already sold out: tickets to follow the tests from the ground have been sold before the expected for both days scheduled.
