“Beernem is a real bicycle municipality, so it makes sense that we focus on safe and comfortable cycle paths,” says Mayor Jos Sypré. “It is important that cars and cyclists are separated. For example, we encourage more people to use the bike.”
The new cycle paths are two and a half kilometers long and connect Oedelem with the center of Beernem. At the same time, the sewer system and the road surface were also renewed, a long -breath project. The residents are especially happy with the improvement of safety and comfort. “People will be able to drive much safer. The track is now also a pleasure to cycle,” it sounds.
