“I understand that this looks very nice on TV, but in the field it is not at all. This had nothing to do with football,” the midfielder told ESPN.

Veerman referred to the tactics that PSV used. “NEC plays one on one. That’s why we started playing a lot of long balls and playing in the same formation as NEC did. Normally we don’t do that, but now it worked out well,” says Veerman.

“We have created many opportunities, we should have finished them earlier. We ourselves did not play enough, that is a shame. Beforehand I knew it would be such a competition.”

What does Peter Bosz say?

Peter Bosz needed to catch your breath after the spectacular competition. “I have not yet completely recovered,” said PSV’s trainer with a smile in front of the ESPN camera.

“If I’m very honest, I didn’t enjoy football. I have seen little good football. It was a physical fight, with a lot of pressing. It was a spectacle with many goals and a big result,” Bosz continued.
