It went completely according to the script. One race throw, qualifying limit 74 meters, stuff stacks and cabins for the ceiling.
– It’s pretty hot. The revival was at 04.10, but I woke up at 02.50 and I didn’t sleep afterwards. The smart ring showed that the night was three and a half hours. In that compared to knowing that you can throw that way, commented Silja Kosonen.
The Finn fell handsomely in the opening round of the sledgehammer’s World Cup qualifying round in the opening round of 75.88 meters and advanced to the top 12 finals.
– It wasn’t a full power throw, but surely hard. I didn’t think it was so long. We wish the finals better throws. I hope and believe they are coming.
A very stable competitor had competed 13 times before the start of Sunday during the 2025 season. The result is 72.40-77.07 meters and the average result is 75.52 meters.
– The technology has not been quite stable throughout the season. In the Swedish match at the end of August, the posture was too wide, the performances are going to go online, and you can’t get the thrown to the end. Now it felt technically much better to get even a small technical mistake out of performance.
Kosonen seems to be successful in the upswing. All the previous 75 meters of the season are from the time before the midsummer party. Most recently, Seiskavitonen went to Bergen on June 3 (75.52).
– In the summer, we have trained hard because the main goal is this. Maybe that’s why the last couple of races have not flown far away when the places were a little tired.
When the qualifying limit broke out, the Finn became a little surprisingly dancing.
– There was a little jamming. It’s fun. Yes, there are others jamming there, Kosonen laughed.
– The top feeling after the qualifying performance was relieved and enthusiastic.
A medal in mind
For the woman of Southwest Finland, Tokyo is the seventh competition for his career. Only the first bite only four years ago ended in qualifying at the Japanese National Stadium.
Kosonen has been twice in the global value competition: at the Paris Olympics last summer (74.04) and in the Budapest World Championships 2023 (73.89).
The Moukari World Cup final will compete in Tokyo on Monday night local time. Kosonen’s goal is a medal.
