Next week FC Twente can complete the placement for the most prestigious club tournament for women. That means good news for the treasurer of the top club from Enschede: the starting money for the group stage has been raised this season and is now 525,000 euros.
It means that FC Twente is not only the best women’s club in the Netherlands, it also makes the Tukkers a powerhouse in a financial field. Last week the club also sold the fast attacker Nikée van Dijk for a record amount to the Italian Internazionale.

In other words: René Roord, the father of star player Jill and the big boss of the women’s department of FC Twente, may still strike on the transfer market, which is not yet closed. The selection of Dekker can still use some reinforcements on the left and right. At least, if the club wants to have a small chance of a ‘healthy’ participation in the champion ball.
Perhaps there is still an enemy acquisition in it.
Like last season, when the big Ajax talent Sophie Cheers managed to seduce to an adventure in the east. It led to furious and resentful reactions from Amsterdam. More than a year later, teen cheers showed in Katowice where she is capable of: after a great dribble from the left flank, she curled the ball into the long corner via a Polish leg: 0-1.

FC Twente was not really hard in Katowice. Only once did the team ran into trouble when Leonie Vliek played the ball too short on keeper Diede Lemey and the Polish Aleksandra Nieciag hit the post. In fact, the home club only came after a mistake by the guests at half of FC Twente, which was lord and master in the Katowice Arena.

Not much later, the Dutch company put things in order. Jill Roord first hit the pole, after which Jaimy Ravensbergen was a fraction too late to decide the game. But after an hour it was done with Katowice: Alieke Tuin shot a ball in the long corner (0-2) and not much later Ravensbergen still brought her goal: 0-3. Just before time, the rord shot the 0-4 in the ropes.
