You could say that the local residents are now used to the image. Agents in the street, here and there ringing for a neighborhood investigation. The affected house trimmed with red-white ribbon, broken doors are covered with wooden plates. Passers -by who talk about it on the street.
At first glance it is a neat neighborhood. Filled with semi-detached houses, enriched with many families who live there. Children who can grow on it in peace, with a playground within reach. An ideal neighborhood, were it not for the street to be plagued by explosions for a long time. And so there is unrest, again.
Drug trafficking and conflicts in underworld
Many residents of the village – and certainly not just the neighbors – say they know what is going on. They all tell their story anonymously. The placed fireworks bombs would be directed time and time again against the son of the family who lives in the house.
His (years of) drug trade has been causing nuisance for ages, is the general picture that is sketched. Cars regularly drive fast through the street and stop at the house. Is there a conflict in the underworld? Hup, then another bang follows. And the neighborhood is upright in bed again.
No one arrested yet
The police call on to share information. “We cannot confirm whether it has to do with drug trafficking, because we are investigating the explosion. But in general there are conflicts on explosions,” says a police spokesperson. No one had been arrested yet on Wednesday afternoon.
Local residents were invited this week by the mayor of Medemblik, Michiel Pijl. They again expressed their worries, as they did last year. A week ago Arrow came to take a personal look in the street and hired security. It posted for a week in the street where the feeling of safety is currently hard to find.
