Hanning had always emphasized that it would make a decision in autumn. “To carry this into the season for so long is semi -optimal,” said Kretzschmar. It was known that Hanning and Kretzschmar had different views. For Hanning, it was not negotiable to consider top performance and the promotion of young talents as an inseparable unit. Kretzschmar, on the other hand, would have invested even more in the quality and depth of the squad.
Hanning is strong in terms of management or youth work. He himself has his strengths in the sporting area of the professional team and Siewert is simply a strong trainer. “The problem only arises if someone wants to do what may be their weakness,” said Kretzschmar, without explaining his statement.
