According to Turkish media reports, the former Schalke coach Domenico Tedesco is about to commit to Fenerbahce Istanbul and is said to be the successor to star coach José Mourinho.

The broadcaster Habertürk and other media reported that both sides had already agreed. Tedesco is expected in Istanbul in the evening. The WAZ also reported on the upcoming obligation.

Last National coach in Belgium

The 39-year-old German-Italian Tedesco had started his career in Germany and, among other things, was a coach at Schalke 04 and RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. He trained the Belgian national team until January of this year, and since then he has been without employment.

The traditional Turkish club had separated from Mourinho at the end of August after missing the Champions League. The Portuguese had been employed by the 19-time master since June 2024, but he did not bring the hoped-for success.

There was also speculation about Hoeneß

Since then, a wide variety of successors have been under discussion, including Sebastian Hoeneß from VfB Stuttgart. Last season Fenerbahce ended up in second place in the league with a clear gap to city rival Galatasaray.
