Nottingham Forest has already released his trainer three game days after the start of the season. A successor has now been determined.
The traditional English club Nottingham Forest has signed Poseteclou as a new team manager. Just a few hours after the separation from Nuno Espírito Santo, the Premier League club officially announced the decision.
Postecoglou was last worked at Tottenham Hotspur, where he was released in June – shortly after winning the Europa League. “We bring a trainer into the club who has been proven to have won titles,” said club owner Evangelos Marinakis in a message.
Under Nuno Espírito Santo, Forest had taken seventh place last season, making it back into the European Cup for the first time in 30 years. In the meantime, the qualification for the Champions League was within reach. The Portuguese had only signed a new three -year contract in June. Most recently, however, he had spoken publicly about differences with marinakis and about the expired transfer phase.
Espírito Santo took over the office in December 2023. The current season was growing for Nottingham with a victory, a draw and a defeat.
The 60-year-old Postecoglu led Tottenham to the first title in 17 years, but had to leave the club because of the disappointing performance in the league. Rank 17 meant the worst placement since the 1976/77 season. Poseteclou had previously trained, among others, Celtic Glasgow and the Australian national team.
