DJ desk instead of catwalk: Top model Naomi Campbell made her debut as a DJane in Munich.

There she appeared at the ‘Ye Summer Closing’, an electric festival in a construction pit in the north of the city. “From the cover of the ‘Vogue’ onto the DJ stage,” said the announcement.

Before she entered the podium, the 55-year-old crossed. At first she seemed a bit tense, but seemed to thaw over time.

“We were just the first to ask them,” said a spokeswoman for the organizer. The idea arose when videos were circulating on social media how Campbell tried in a private circle as DJane.

According to the organizer, between 3,000 and 4,000 tickets were sold for the festival, where Campbell appeared as a top act in the evening. Among them were fans who did not necessarily come for the music, but primarily wanted to see the large model idol from that time.

Anja Schroth came to Munich from Nuremberg to see her idol. “She is at my age and I think it’s good what she does and how great she still looks,” she said.

In the 1990s, Campbell was part of the first generation of real supermodels with colleagues such as Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford, which shaped a whole fashion era.
