ROma, 4 sets. (askanews) – The exhibition “Basilicata Sacra: another sky” is open in Rome, which can be visited until September 24 at the Palazzo della Cancelleria. A journey into the spiritual, artistic and popular roots of the Region, born from the collaboration between the Basilicata Region, APT Basilicata and the Episcopal Conference of Basilicata, with the patronage of the Dicastery for evangelization.

Made on the occasion of Jubilee 2025, the exhibition proposes an immersive and multisensory story of the rites, symbols and expressions of faith that animate local communities, highlighting the collective and participatory dimension of popular religiosity. Through thematic sections, the exhibition offers a transversal and diachronic reading of the phenomenon, alternating historical artifacts of great devotional value with multimedia installations and immersive environments capable of returning the evocative force of the gestures, voices, sounds and images that mark the Lucanian ritual.

Among the elements on display, significant symbols from all the dioceses of Basilicata: processional objects, relics, sacred vestments, wooden elements and papier -mâché, as well as a section dedicated to the Via Crucis reinterpreted in a contemporary key. An immersive room will lead the visitor to the most intense moments of regional popular piety, documenting the intertwining between faith, territory and cultural identity.

The exhibition can be visited in the Palazzo della Cancelleria until 24 September every day from 10 to 13 and from 15 to 19.
