It is crying with the cap for Wendy van Dijk: she no longer has presentation jobs and there is nothing in the pipeline. “How can she save her career?” Wonders TV critic Victor Vlam.
Wendy van Dijk has confirmed for the camera from Shownieuws that she is no longer so seen on television, because SBS 6 more often broadcasts talk shows and less entertainment. She currently has no more programs and there is nothing in the pipeline. Furthermore, she has sorted today’s request to sit down as a table guest.
To save Wendy?
TV critic Victor Vlam, who has not been in VI after the scolding of Johan Derksen, finds it a worrying situation. “How can she save her career? Because the career of Wendy van Dijk is not in a dip, but in a crater that you can cross with a jeep.”
He continues in the podcast Victor explains TV: “It is very difficult to get out of this. It is very difficult to find the way up again and she more or less indicated that herself, because she recently responded very uncomfortably to the question of what she will do on television.”
Chantal and Linda
Victor confirms the argumentation of Wendy, about the lack of studio shows, but also notes: “This problem should have Chantal Janzen and Linda de Mol and that is not the case, because Linda de Mol returns with brilliant brain and chantal with The Voice.
“They can still be seen, so that means that something else is going on and that is actually that Wendy van Dijk’s career is in a dip, because she is simply less loved by the viewers public. That’s a harsh reality.”
TV popularity
Popularity is very erratic. “It is also a bit that it feels random, because why are you popular at one moment and not at the next? But if you go and see how many flops she has had in the last few years, then it is obvious that there is more to it than just that there is less large studio amusement.”
“For the past five years, she has only had one successful program, namely who of the three. And even there: she is more the declarant than someone who is very important there. For the rest they were all flops.”
Harsh reality
Wendy has countless flops in her name at SBS 6. “And if you have so many flops, then there are still transmitter bosses who start thinking: yes, maybe it is not only the format, but also to the presenter. And I honestly think that that is just the hand at Wendy van Dijk. She’s just the hard.”
“She is of course someone who has a cheerful, light -hearted style, but she misses that edge that Chantal and Linda have. They can occasionally come out of the corner a bit dangerous. That has a lot less. And that makes her less exciting. So I think her style is just less popular at the moment.”
He concludes: “I think her time as a big presenter, someone who could really wear a channel, is really over.”
