SG Flensburg-Handewitt missed the first win of the season in the handball Bundesliga on Thursday. The team of coach Ales Pajovic did not get out against TVB Stuttgart beyond 29:29 (13:15). After the next mistake, the false start is perfect.
Despite a good start, it quickly became apparent in the Campus Hall that a reaction to the already disappointing draw in Wetzlar on the first match day would fail. Too uninspired, tentative and speed, the Flensburgers acted over almost the entire duration.
And, you have to be so honest, even the second draw of the season was a decent effort. The Pajovic protégés were in the meantime with three goals. If newcomer Marko Grgic had not achieved eleven goals, the game would probably have been lost.
And yet the game felt due to the long list of defects, which, as at the start, actually walked through all the parts of the team, like a bankruptcy. The next Monday in Minden (8 p.m.) the Schleswig-Holsteiners want to do better if they really want to arrive in the season with the first victory.
SG with dream start, burglary and referee pech
The SG got an excellent start and led 4-0 after five minutes. The cross movements were on the offensive, from seven, eight meters TVB keeper Miljan Vujovic flew the balls around the ears. The Pajovic team could not keep the high level, rather it was about its own rhythm: lax defense behavior, lack of pace, exuberant opportunities-and a seven-meter misalignment. Emil Jakobsen unintentionally banged the ball on his head, from where he went to the crossbar. And worse from Flensburg’s point of view: the left wing got a two-minute penalty.
The game of the hosts became more and more agile and the leadership not only melted, in the 21st minute the Swabians were 9: 8 in a row after two beautifully played goals in a row. The mood in the “hell north” was more and more waned. Dissatisfaction and uncertainty after the disappointing draw in Wetzlar were noticeable and visible.
And since it didn’t go, the SG was still unlucky: Shortly before the break, the referees Christian and Fabian vom Dorff sent both Jakobsen and Kent Robin Tönnesen with extremely petty decisions. Stuttgart went into the cabins with two goals lead.
Grgic keeps Flensburg alive – and awards the chance of victory
The Pajovic protégés equalized the game a few minutes after the restart (17:17, 36.). The problem from their point of view: At that time they had thrown Vujovic really hot. The TVB goalkeeper opposed the 17 SG hits 15 parades. And since the Häfner brothers Max and Kai played in the front in the front, they were back in the 43rd minute with three goals (22:19).
In this phase, the Flensburgers only gave hope to the hapless goalkeeper Kevin Möller Benjamin Buric and Grgic. The newcomer achieved the 29:28 lead eight minutes before the end and two minutes before Ultimo.
But that was not enough for victory because the best SG player of all people at 29:29 was an offensive foul. In the end, the second draw was in the second game – and all Flensburgers wrote the disappointment in the faces.
