The Foxes Berlin After a publicly carried out creation with managing director Bob Hanning from sports director Stefan Kretzschmar and coach Jaron Siewert. Kretzschmar and Siewert have been released with immediate effect. This was announced by the handball champion on Thursday.
Ex-Flensburg coach Krickau takes over
Both Kretzschmar and Siewert still had a valid working paper with the Berliners until the end of the season. Due to the tensions with Hanning, Kretzschmar had already announced on Tuesday that he did not want to extend his contract.
The successor has already been determined. Nicolej Krickau is said to act as a coach and sports director in personnel union. The Dane recently looked after SG Flensburg-Handewitt and was released in December. He will make his debut in the top game against SC Magdeburg on Saturday (3:40 p.m., live in the first and at Sportschau.de).
Hanning: “The most difficult decision of my time with the Foxes”
In the past few weeks there had been an open power struggle between Kretzschmar and Hanning. Kretzschmar could not understand that, despite the successes of the previous season, Hanning could not clearly position themselves to him and Siewert and the future of the two were open. The Berliners not only became masters, but also won the Supercup and reached the final of the Champions League.
“After the developments of the past few days, we felt that a fundamental change will be needed,” said Hanning. “The fact that there is now also a 48-hour turbulent in the end of Jaron is the hardest decision of my 20-year time with the Foxes,” said Hanning.
