KIK will have to do without managing director Patrick Zahn in the future
Patrick Zahn decided not to extend his managing director contract, KiK Textiles and Non-Food GmbH said on Thursday. The outgoing managing director will leave the company after a total of 18 years at his own request. His last working day on the textile discounter is September 4th.
“We expressly thank Patrick Zahn for his long-term commitment, his foresight and deep connection with our company,” said Christian Haub, chairman of Tengelmann Twenty-One KG. “In the past almost two decades, he has made a significant contribution to becoming one of the largest textile retailers in Europe. He will be very lacking in KiK employees.”
With the farewell of tooth, Kik will lose another manager in no time. It was only in July that the textile discounter announced that Coo Dirk Ankenbrand had left the company “for personal reasons”. At the time, it was said that tooth anken fire would take over previous areas of responsibility. As a COO, anken fire was responsible for the areas of range management, purchasing, logistics, supply chain and marketing/CRM.
Anyone who takes the successor to Zahn will be communicated in due course, says Kik. Until then, the management consists of Christian Kümmel, who has been working as a Chief Financial Officer since August 1, and Agnieszka Jaworska, who will enter the management on November 1st. In this function, the latter will be responsible for purchasing, assortment and procurement.
Farewell after 18 years
Zahn worked for the company for a total of 18 years. He started his entry at KIK as a business unit manager Foreign Countries before climbing the Managing Director Sales and finally in 2016 to the CEO. In his time as a managing director and already in the previous positions, he had significantly shaped the development of the company, set important course for the future and always paid special attention to people in the company, according to the message.
Under his leadership, the international expansion was promoted, a successful CRM system was introduced, new branch concepts implemented and several sourcing offices opened. In addition, he successfully controlled the company through the Corona crisis and built up a professional sustainability area.
“This decision is not easy for me because the company and people are very important to me,” said the outgoing CEO. “At the same time, after 18 intensive years, I now find the time right to devote myself to new tasks and challenges.”
